When I started collecting recipes, these cookies were ones that my mom’s family would make growing up. There was one day when I ran across this family recipe and thought I would try it out. Conveniently my mom and dad were coming over to see us and so I was able to share the cookies with them. As soon as my mom tried these cookies, her eyes lit up and she instantly had the memory come back of eating these as a little girl with her dad. It is recipes like this one that I cannot wait to pass onto future kiddos and tell them that their grandma loved sharing them with my grandpa.
This recipe includes 2 to 3 dozen sugar cookies. You can use any sugar cookies that you would like, however I do strongly recommend using my soft sugar cookie recipe found in the desserts & sweets section. The combination of the soft sugar cookie with the almond and coconut frosting, drizzled with chocolate is absolute perfection.
