Nothing says Sunday dinner like a homecooked Sunday roast. When Porter and I got married, we would go over to one of our family’s houses for dinner almost every Sunday. The Hebdon’s take Sunday roast very seriously! For YEARS of our marriage I refused to make roast because I knew it would not be nearly as good as his mom’s. Finally once I got the courage to try to replicate it, and with the help of her recipe I was able to fall in love with making roast for our little family. Now that we live a full country away from the family, this meal brings us so much joy and connection to our families.
This roast is the best! Want to know why? It is SO easy! I feel silly for being intimidated by making roast when this recipe couldn’t be easier. You stick the roast in your crockpot, add the seasonings and some water and let the magic happen. The seasoning combination also makes the BEST gravy. This is truly a fail proof recipe and I cannot wait for my future kiddos to grow up eating their grandma’s roast.
